Web designer · Anaheim, California

Great local businesses
deserve great websites.

I’m Michael Nguyen. I design clean, fast, mobile-first websites, digital menus and listings that help local businesses turn a quick search into a new customer.

Services

Everything customers see
before they walk in.

Most people meet your business online first. I make that first impression match the real thing.

Website design & redesign

New sites and fresh starts for dated ones. Clear, fast and built for phones first, so calling, finding you and ordering take one tap.

Digital & QR menus

Menus that are easy to read on any phone, simple to keep up to date and one scan away from the table.

Google & Yelp listing cleanup

Consistent names, hours, links and photos everywhere people look you up, so nobody lands on old info.

Selected work

Real businesses.
Honest redesigns.

Marri’s Pizza & Pasta

A family Italian restaurant in Anaheim, serving since 1957.

Type
Self-initiated concept
Scope
Website, menu, ordering path
Location
Anaheim, CA

Before

Two sites. Mixed signals.

The current marrispizza.com homepage on a phone.
marrispizza.com
The older marrispizzaorder.com ordering site on a phone, still live.
marrispizzaorder.com
  • An old ordering site is still live, showing outdated prices.
  • The contact email is misspelled (gmaill.com).
  • Typos throughout the menu.
  • The business name is inconsistent across listings.

Screenshots of the live sites, captured September 2026.

After · concept

One clear home for the restaurant.

Concept homepage on a phone with Order Online and View Menu buttons.
Home
Concept menu page on a phone.
Menu
  • One site, one name, one clear Order Online button.
  • A full, readable menu page, written and proofread.
  • Hours, address and phone up front, one tap to call.
  • Designed for phones first, where most orders start.

X Fish Izakaya

All-you-can-eat sushi and izakaya in Buena Park and Brea.

Type
Self-initiated concept
Scope
Website, menu, gallery
Location
Buena Park & Brea, CA
Concept redesign of the X Fish Izakaya homepage on desktop: a dark hero with the centered X Fish logo and the headline “All-you-can-eat sushi, yakitori and ramen.”
The concept’s photo gallery on a phone, with pause and arrow buttons above the photos.

Before

Great photos. Menus you have to zoom.

The current xfishizakaya.com homepage on a phone: a full-screen food video under the X Fish logo.
Home
The current xfishizakaya.com menu page on a phone, opening with a large sushi photo.
Menu
  • Menus and prices are photos of the printed sheets, so you pinch and zoom on a phone.
  • It says to reserve on Yelp, but there’s no Yelp link.
  • The home page photo slider keeps moving and can’t be paused.
  • Buena Park shows two different phone numbers.

After · concept

A calm, date-night look.

Concept homepage on a phone with a Reserve button and a sticky Reserve and Menu bar.
Home
Concept menu on a phone: a ramen photo above the Lunch tier, $29.99.
Menu
  • Quiet like a Michelin guide page: dark stone background, lots of room, food photos up front.
  • Menu tiers and prices as real text. Each tier gets a photo, above it on phones and pinned beside it on desktop.
  • A gallery that scrolls on its own but pauses, drags and works with the keyboard.
  • Centered logo with a header that frosts over as you scroll.
  • Free fonts (Inter and Gilda Display), so there’s no font license to pay for.
  • Checked for accessibility with axe.

An unofficial concept I made to show what’s possible. Not affiliated with or endorsed by X Fish Izakaya.

Concept menu on desktop: the Signature tier at $41.99 next to a pinned photo of a nigiri platter.

How I work

Simple. Local. Done right.

  1. 01

    Look

I review your website, menu and listings the way a customer would, and show you what’s getting in the way.

  2. 02

    Design

A clean, mobile-first design built around your real food, products and people.

  3. 03

    Launch

Your new site goes live, and your listings point to the same place with the same info.

About

Hi, I’m Michael.

I’m a web designer based in Anaheim, California, and a fourth-year Computer Information Systems student at Cal State Long Beach, almost done.

I work with local businesses on the things that shape a first impression: the website, the menu and the listings people find on Google and Yelp. When the photos need an upgrade, I shoot those on my iPhone too.
